The Russian military claims to have struck and disabled the Starokostiantyniv military air base, in Western Ukraine, today, on Sunday.
Igor Konashenkov, Russian Defence Ministry Spokesman, said: “The Russia armed forces continue to strike the military infrastructure of Ukraine.
“On the morning of March 6, strikes were carried out by high-precision long-range weapons. The Ukrainian air force base near Starokostiantyniv was disabled.”
He added Vladimir Putin’s forces had downed 10 Ukrainian aircraft over the past 24 hours.
Ukraine says it shot down eight Russian aircraft during the same period (see below).
