Max Mosley had an extremely successful career as a racing driver as well as being a trained lawyer. He initially tried racing in Formula Two before entering F1 as owner and boss of the team in 1970. How much was he worth?

Together with Ecclestone, Mosley represented FOCA, the body that represented Formula One constructors.

In 1978, he became the official legal advisor to the company.

Mosley is the youngest son of Sir Oswald Mosley, former leader of the British Union of Fascists, and Diana Milford.

He was educated in France, Germany and Britain before going to attend university at Christ Church, Oxford.

Fans flooded Twitter with tributes after hearing about his death.

One person wrote: “A titanic and controversial figure, who changed the face of motorsport safety in his role as FIA president.”

Another said: “A fascinating man, with quite the life story.”

“Sad to hear the news about Max Mosley, I don’t think people realise just how much he did for motorsport and safety when FIA president,” a third tweeted.
